ANNA Newsletter April 2026

Dear Reader,

With Q1 2026 now complete, this ANNA newsletter showcases the recent community achievements and previews upcoming initiatives to further promote and secure financial standardisation in global markets.

At ANNA, our global network is built on a foundation of support and international collaboration. Whether through active participation in working groups or the sharing of valuable technical and operational knowledge at our General Meetings, ANNA exemplifies the spirit of giving – a theme celebrated during International Women’s Day last month. This ethos was further reflected in our recognition at the International Awards for Trade, Treasury and Payments 2026, where we were proud to be honoured as ‘Best Network, Standards or Infrastructure Partner of the Year’.  This award specifically acknowledged ANNA’s role in delivering trusted global standards, enhancing market transparency and interoperability across over 200 jurisdictions.

ANNA continues to play a foundational role in maintaining and developing the universal language of financial markets and we regularly act as a bridge between our NNA members and regulators to clarify regulatory requirements and promote best practices. Aligned to this, we therefore welcomed the opportunity earlier this year to comment on the FCA Consultation Paper CP25/32: Improving the UK transaction reporting regime – we now await the forthcoming final reports from the FCA and ESMA, which will set out proposals to streamline regulatory obligations for all market participants.

It’s also been a busy season of events, with ANNA representing across Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Looking ahead, we’re especially excited for the International Financial Standards Conference (#IFSC) in Frankfurt which marks its 20th anniversary later this year. ANNA is proud to be sponsoring and speaking at this flagship event for the industry and we look forward to being part of the celebrations. Meanwhile, we look forward to welcoming all members to the ANNA General Meeting, 10-12 June in Zurich.

We sincerely hope you enjoy this edition.

Best wishes,
Stephan Dreyer
Managing Director, ANNA

MARKET UPDATES

ANNA published a new infographic depicting the XT International Securities Identification Number (XT ISIN) – the new global use case for ISINs, enabling the identification of crypto assets within a trusted and standardised framework.

ANNA welcomed the opportunity to comment on the FCA Consultation Paper CP25/32: Improving the UK transaction reporting regime (the Consultation).

The DSB announced its 2026 Annual Industry Consultation, opening on 30 April. With widespread adoption of OTC ISIN and UPI identifiers, the DSB announced its shifting toward a discovery-led approach to better understand how its data flows through the wider derivatives ecosystem. Consultation responses are due by 29 May, with the final report scheduled for release on 17 July 2026.

Emma Kalliomaki DSB and ANNA MD joined Julia Streets MBE to explore the critical role of the DSB, as the “golden source” of reference data for the OTC derivatives market and how standardised OTC derivatives identifiers and global collaboration continue to drive market transparency and reduce operational and regulatory burden for its 1,900+ users worldwide. Listen to the episode here.

As a pre notification, Digital Assets will be incorporated into the ASB as of July 2026. More technical details will follow.

Save the Date: IFSC 2026 – 20th Anniversary Edition. On 12 November 2026, the premier standardisation event: the International Financial Standards Conference (#IFSC) will celebrate its 20th anniversary in Frankfurt – we will be sponsoring and speaking at this key event for the industry
