ANNA membership reaches 113 as a large number of jurisdictions transition to become full members

Confirmed at ANNA’s General Meeting in Warsaw, 3-4 December 2024

London, 5 December 2024 – The Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA), a global association dedicated to the support of efficient capital markets through the use of widely embraced International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) standards, announced today that the National Numbering Agencies (NNAs) of Algeria, Botswana, El Salvador, Honduras, Jamaica, Macao, Maldives, Nicaragua, United Arab Emirates (DIFC) and Zambia have transitioned from ANNA partners to become full members.

These appointments were confirmed at ANNA’s General Meeting (GM) in Warsaw, 3-4 December 2024, hosted by the Central Securities Depository of Poland (KDPW). The additions bring the total number of ANNA members to 113.

At the GM, ANNA also confirmed the first two designated, non jurisdictional, numbering agencies: the Derivatives Service Bureau (DSB) and Etrading Software (ETS) as ANNA Partners.

The DSB is the existing, global golden source of reference data for OTC derivatives, issuing the OTC ISIN, Classification of Financial Instruments (CFI) and Financial Instrument Short Name (FISN). ETS is a registration authority for ISO 24165, Digital Token Identifier (DTI) and will become the global numbering agency for crypto assets, issuing XT ISINs.

ANNA’s membership continues to expand, with members and partners allocating ISIN, FISN and CFI codes for more than 200 jurisdictions. Currently, there are more than 116 million ISINs and related information available worldwide.

Stephan Dreyer, MD ANNA, said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome new full members to our growing standards community and I am delighted that ANNA’s membership continues to grow strongly. Broad membership brings the shared local and global expertise that is so paramount to the further development of standards which support market transparency and efficiency”.

Emma Kalliomaki, MD ANNA and DSB added: “As the global source of international standards for OTC derivatives, becoming an ANNA partner establishes the DSB’s formal recognition as a numbering agency and the principles upheld since its inception. We look forward to ongoing collaboration with the ANNA community, and broader stakeholders, to evolve global financial standards that enable market interoperability and provide better data quality for all”.

Denis Dounaev, DTI Product Owner at ETS, said: “It’s an honour to be appointed as a formal partner of ANNA. ANNA and the ETS have worked closely to bring ISIN standards together with new DTIs for digital assets and deliver a phased roll-out for new ISINs to identify crypto assets. We look forward to taking on the role of registered authoriser of a combined solution that brings transparency and efficiency to evolving digital markets”.
