ANNA responds to FCA Discussion Paper on Improving the UK Transaction Reporting Regime
Brussels, 7th January: ANNA together with DSB, has responded to the FCA’s Discussion Paper DP24/2 on improving the UK transaction reporting regime.
ANNA reaffirmed its support for both ISIN and UPI, noting that 2 standards are complementary, with the UPI dataset forming a subset of the ISIN dataset.
The response highlighted that ISINs provide higher data quality, as they contain the necessary attributes within the identifier itself, while a UPI+ model would rely on additional data elements from multiple sources. ANNA also welcomed recent EU reforms addressing the “rolling ISIN” issue by removing expiry dates for certain instruments and noted that similar modifications could improve usability and reduce reporting burdens in the UK.
