ANNA responds to ESMA consultation on Crypto-Assets

Brussels, 29th April: ANNA has responded to ESMA’s consultation on draft guidelines for qualifying crypto-assets as financial instruments (MiCA 3rd package). ANNA supports the proposed criteria and recommends using global ISO standards – ISIN, DTI, CFI and FISN to ensure clear, consistent and transparent identification of crypto-assets. ANNA highlights the complementary roles of ISIN and DTI as interoperable identifiers, with ISINs now also issued with an “XT” prefix for referential crypto-assets not linked to a specific country.
