CRB Monitor Partners with DTIF and ANNA to Advance Digital Asset Risk Solutions

CRB Monitor, leading provider of emerging compliance and risk solutions to banks, is partnering with the Digital Token Identifier Foundation (DTIF) and the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) to enhance tools available to financial institutions to help identify and manage both direct and indirect exposure to digital assets.

Digital assets are now well into the trillions of dollars in value and transaction volume with very major bank having exposure to this sector. Through comprehensive monitoring of the digital asset ecosystem CRB Monitor allows financial institutions to identify real-world transactions and capital markets activity that are linked to digital assets, enabling them to manage the regulatory, risk and compliance associated with these exposures. The CRB database covers 2,400+ digital asset-linked securities from 2,100+ issuers.

ANNA is the central membership organization for global national numbering agencies (NNAs) serving as the established identification and registration authority for the ISIN and FISN standards, under appointment of the International Organization for Standardization’s (ISO).

The DTIF, created in 2021, provides ISO standard identifiers for digital assets based on open data principles and is the registration authority for the new ISO standard for Digital Token Identifiers (DTIs). ANNA and the DTIF bring ISIN and DTI standards together to support transparency and efficiencies to digital asset markets.

The integration of both the ISIN and DTI into the CRB Monitor database allows financial institutions to verify universally recognised identifiers for use across their securities master, regulatory capital reporting, OECD tax reporting, and other third-party software. The additional granularity of the DTI also allows a deeper dive into the holdings of ETFs and ETPs, not previously available in other securities databases.

Paul Chaveriat, President of Digital Assets at CRB Monitor, said: “We love that ANNA and DTIF are looking toward the future in this space. Most banks are now moving beyond the ‘we don’t do crypto’ mindset and realising that the sector is too large for their business models not to include. As more regulated financial institutions enter the space, the need for trusted datasets becomes foundational to addressing a host of compliance, risk, and tax challenges.”

“CRB Monitor’s adoption of both ISIN and DTI demonstrates how these identifiers deliver real value to financial institutions,” said Sassan Danesh, CEO of Etrading Software, parent company of the DTIF. “Together, these complementary identifiers provide banks and other institutions with a consistent, reliable framework for managing the evolving risks associated with digital assets.”

Stephan Dreyer, Managing Director for ANNA added “This collaboration with CRB Monitor is a significant demonstration of how ANNA is working to foster standardisation within the financial industry based on ISO principles. The integration of ISIN and DTI into the CRB Monitor database directly addresses the critical challenge of lacking standardised identification data in the digital asset space. By including these linked, trusted and complementary identifiers, financial institutions can now access verified, trusted data to meet their requirements”

This collaboration reflects the broader shift toward greater transparency and standardisation in digital assets. With ANNA and DTIF managing the global identifiers and CRB Monitor integrating them into compliance solutions, financial institutions gain stronger foundations for resilience and effective oversight in evolving markets.
