By adopting global industry standards, organisations can meet regulatory requirements and help improve transparency, stability and efficiency
The Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) is a global member association of National Numbering Agencies (NNAs) seeking to foster standardisation within the financial industry by upholding the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) principles and by promoting ISIN, FISN and CFI codes for financial instruments. This is done through ongoing, collaborative work with market participants, regulators and other standards bodies.
It is more important than ever for the industry to work together to find ways to mutualise areas where all can benefit
Our Mission
We help organisations address their regulatory obligations as well as address new industry challenges as the market continues to evolve, so they can focus on developing core business strategies and continue to innovate. We do this by working with industry to continuously develop and promote standards in-line with industry needs and market evolution, such as with the emergence of digital assets.
Our Approach
ANNA’s flexible and collaborative approach encourages discussion to implement new models and new approaches, and we believe it is in the interest of the market as a whole to do this in a collaborative, centralised manner rather than on an individual basis. ANNA also collaborates with other institutions on complementary ISO standards initiatives to service the industry. Additionally, by putting in place rigorous governance around the development, allocation and sharing of the ISIN and FISN standards, we help facilitate open, transparent markets with no barriers to access, while protecting the integrity of the standard.

Formal Documentation
Working groups, regional groups, task forces and workshops
ANNA communicates throughout the year with members to gauge industry sentiment around new regulations, challenges and opportunities within the financial industry in order to evolve the ISIN standard in-line with industry needs. ANNA also helps educate members on issues affecting their jurisdictions and the industry as a whole. This is done through regular working groups, surveys, task forces, workshops and biannual general meetings. This ensures ANNA and its members are able to make informed decisions with greater transparency and accountability that are in the best interest of the industry.
