ANNA responds to FCA consultation on transparency for bond and derivatives markets

Brussels, 6th March: ANNA and DSB have responded to the UK FCA’s consultation CP23/32 on improving transparency for bond and derivatives markets.

ANNA and DSB support both ISIN and the UPI, stressing their complementary roles in ensuring market transparency. It was highlighted that the UPI dataset is a subset of the ISIN dataset, with the CFI common to both, providing a harmonised framework for global regulatory reporting.

It was noted that reliance on ISINs enhances data quality, reduces operational burdens and avoids duplicative reporting. Potential modifications to OTC ISINs to address long-standing usability concerns, ensuring alignment with market conventions and better meeting transparency needs was also supported.
